Miriam DiOrio, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Miriam DiOrio joined Dr. Portnoy's office in March of 2004. Dr. DiOrio received a bachelors degree (B.A.) in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from St. John’s University, a Masters Degree (M.A.) in Audiology from CUNY Hunter College and a doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Florida. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA) and an Affiliate Member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS). Dr. DiOrio is certified by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and holds New York State licenses in Audiology and Hearing-Aid Dispensing.
Dr. DiOrio is highly dedicated in addressing hearing loss with the most current technology. She performs diagnostic evaluations of hearing and provides cutting-edge technological solutions for hearing loss. She is an expert in advanced digital hearing aid fittings which include the programming of long term use and permanently implanted hearing aids. Dr. DiOrio has many notable appointments. She is the owner/operator of Yorkville Hearing, Inc, the Director of the Newborn Hearing Screening Program at New York Downtown Hospital and the Director of Early Intervention Services at the Association in the Metro-Area for Autistic Children (AMAC) in New York City.
